Gifts

As we start a new year, I was thinking about our creation, and how special each and every one of us is to God.. How wonderful is it that He put each and every one of us on this earth for a purpose? Even more magical and special that He has given us all gifts to use and glorify his name? This year one of my “resolutions'' was to better understand the gifts that God has given me, and more importantly how I can best glorify Him using my gifts. When I first thought about myself having a special gift, I was getting caught up in professions and qualities that my earthly self deemed to be of higher value in the Lord’s eyes. For example, being a doctor, being a pastor of a church, being a missionary and spreading God’s word, etc. But God tells us that no matter how big, or small of a gift we have been given, it is important to him and we must use it to glorify his name. We have to use the gifts that we have, and do whatever we can to make God smile. I challenge you to take your gifts and do one thing today that you know will have Jesus smiling down on you!

“There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.” 1 Corinthians 12: 4-6
